Pride was great! I screamed myself hoarse, drank with my brother, and generally had the best time I can expect to have all summer.

Side note: It is too fucking hot to be allowed. It's JUNE! And we're not on the equator!

Kendiefox

Okay, fine. I can post. It's not hard, right? I've been reading anything I can get my hands on recently. I'm waiting for Breaking Dawn to come out. August 2 can't get here fast enough. Stephenie Meyer really can write, too. The Host was really good. Overtones of Tok'ra, for those of you who would get the Stargate reference. I really enjoyed it. I'm reading Jitterbug Perfume again; mostly because I can't seem to find Skinny Legs and All anywhere. I've got Jess reading SiP, which Kayla finally finished. And I'm really not sure where to go from here. I need something/someone new to read. I've read most/all of Tom Robbins, Raymond E. Feist, Laurell K. Hamilton, Anne Bishop, Jacqueline Carey, and various others. I need more. Help me, please. I'm honestly willing to try anything. I enjoy crime dramas and suspense fiction as well as the above. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Kendiefox

I have FF12. It is slowly stealing my soul. I'm letting it because it's so pretty. In other news, I was tagged to do this.

Post this in an entry and have your friends tell you how they met you (community, other friend, etc.) and what were their first impression on you (interesting, intimidated, etc.).
Screen the comments, and then tag ten people to do this meme. You are in league with evil-doers who hate our freedoms. By all counts you are a liberal, and as such cleary desire the terrorists to succeed and impose their harsh theocratic restrictions on us all. You are fit to be hung for treason! Luckily George Bush is tapping your internet connection and is now aware of your thought-crime. And fun was had. And allergy attacks were had; all day long, bitches. I thought my eyes and nose were going to give up and run off of my face in search of a new home. Other than the streaming eyes and nose, I had a wonderful time. I saw Sound and Fury, and Iris and Rose, and the Birds of Prey, and we shopped. Whee!

I went to a dog show with Mom on Saturday. Neither dog won anything, but I had fun. I saw very pretty dogs, and was hit on by a food rep. We like the food, and he was cute, but I was still more weirded out than interested. meh.

Kendiefox

Whee! Moved! And I broke up with Keith. Not so much with the whee. In fact, no whee at all in that situation. I feel badly about hurting him by breaking up with him, but I didn't want to date him when I wasn't in love with him any more. And I wasn't. And that really, really sucks. Because I wanted to stay in love with him. I was at one time extatically happy with Keith. I don't know what happened to change that, but change it did. And I had to hurt him. Because he still loved me. hm. This isn't really helping to make me feel better. I don't need to get this out, I need to do something else.

I may be getting a dog. My mom knows someone who has a male French Bulldog who is, after several months of growth and observation, not show-quality. So, he needs a home. And I really want a male Frenchie, so I may be getting him. Nothing is set in stone though, so I might not.

Going to Austin this weekend to see Kristen and Rachel. I'm really glad to be getting out of town for a few days. A change of scenery may be just what I need. And not working for five days is definetly what I need. It's my last opportunity to use my vacation time since so much of the rest of the year is blacked-out for managers. And use it I shall. Oh, the fangirlish squee-ing that will go on. ^_^

Kendiefox

It's too fucking hot to be believed.

Work is pretty much the same. The registers went down yesterday for forty five minutes, but I did get them up! I know, I know, I am just the coolest evar.

Keith and I are looking at apartments. We really want to move in together some time before my lease is up at the end of September. I think we have a good place picked out, but Keith wants to see an actual apartment before he signs anything. Understandable, really.

If you haven't read Tipping the Velvet, do so. There is a lesbian agenda, but Sara Waters doesn't hide it or try to mask it. The main characters are lesbians, period. It's really, really good, though. And the BBC miniseries is also very good. Different, but good. I just got Fingersmith, also by Sara Waters, but I'm reserving judgement on that until the end. I have high hopes for it, though.

Kendiefox

Puppy Pictures!

So, tonight after dinner and before Gilmore Girls, Mom and I took pictures of the two newest additions to her pack. And here they are!

Harlow is nine weeks old, and is exceptionally well housebroken. She fusses like there is no tomorrow when she's in her pen and needs to go out.

Shelby is five months old and is from Belgium. She is just so dammned adorable!

Apologies to those who do not like dogs, pictures, or properly used LJ-cuts. :P I love the dogs, get over it.

Kendall

Woo! Kay is engaged! And I'm going to be her maid of honor. Which is cool.

The whole 'I'm a manager in training' thing isn't moving at all. I have been scheduled as the only cashier every day for the past two weeks. So, no time to work on the training. And, of course, company policy dictates that I cannot work them off the clock. -_-; It's very frustrating, especially when almost all the managers keep asking me how the books are going. Then I get to annoy them by saying that they aren't because I'm the only effing cashier. Damnit! This shouldn't be this hard. It really shouldn't.

In non-work news, I have picked up FFX again. I really do love that game. And I can't find my copy of X-2. I really wanted to show that to Keith, too. *sigh* I'm sure it'll turn up eventually.

Kendiefox

So, it appears that my district manager has decided that I should be a support manager, and told my store director this. So, I will be training for that now. Quite decidedly odd. It just happened yesterday. And nothing has really changed.

That is all.
Kendall

Thanksgiving was good, but I have something to be very thankful for now that I didn't have then.

I got a promotion! Kim was given the job of support manager at another PetSmart, and I am now the full-time opening cashier! Woo! There was much drama around the promotion and if you care, I will explain to you, but I doubt that many really care.

I saw CATS this past Sunday. I enjoyed it greatly. I was, however, unimpressed with the performance given by Grizabella. I just thought something was lacking. Ah, well.

Other than that, not much changes for me. I work, I see the friends, I work, I work. :P

Kendiefox

Alive, I am. Saw Harry Potter at midnight, I did.

And it was good. Delicious, in fact.

Quite busy at work, still no internet in my apartment, and I hate Thanksgiving. Because that means we'll be getting the PetsHell Christmas music. hate. I really have nothing more to add. Everyone with my cell number should feel free to call whenever. Especially on Turkey Day as I will be spending the majority of the day with my mom and stepdad (it's still weird to call him that, but it's nicer than calling him "my mother's husband"). I really don't like formal occaisions with Brent. He doesn't think it's funny when John and I start our usual routine of bashing books, quoting movies, and making inappropriate jokes/comments. The rest of the family does, so we continue despite his disapproval. I would very much welcome any and all interruptions from friends this time, though. John will be with Leslie and her father this year. *sad face*

Kendiefox

Da move

I have moved! It took almost all of Saturday, but it's done. And the weather was with us for most of the day. Cloudy and kinda cool, it made lugging my shit across the complex easier. And it wasn't across the complex. I moved about 100 yards. It's great, though. I had my brother, Keith, Corrigan, Brent, Mom, Kayla, Leslie, and a friend of Leslie's that I have met several times but I just can't seem to remember her name. So, it went well. I am so very happy in my new place, though. It's really wonderful.

I need something new to read! Will all you people on my flist please tell me what I should be reading? I'm up for just about anything right now. I've looked at every book I own at least twice in the last week, and nothing piques my interest. So tell me what you think I need to read now.

Kendiefox

I evacuated!

But, I'm back now. Dad didn't listen to da mayor, and we came back today. I am at Kayla's parent's house right now because I didn't really want to stay home, and I have enough gas to get to the weekend. Huzzah!

I went with my dad, Tammy (his girlfriend), Christopher (Tammy's kid), and Scruffy the schnauzer to Mason, Texas. That would be the middle of effing nowhere. But, it's okay. There was running water and electricity and my brother and his wife. It wasn't bad being there, but I never want to evacuate again. That was the most horrible thing I've ever done. That includes the drive I made from Austin to Houston when I had the flu. Evacuating was worse than that. Suckage. Dad has a diesel truck, though, so there was enough fuel for him.

All in all, I'm alive and I never, ever, ever want to do that again.

Kendiefox

I have a place to live! *and the villagers rejoice* It's in the same complex, at a rate I can afford, and has hook-ups for full washer/dryer units. Sent from above as the answer to my prayers, indeed.

I have two new cds from the Wulf. I like them both very much, even though this is the first time I've heard most of the bands on "He Was So Pretty I Felt Like A Lesbian." And that's just fun to say. Other than that, I work too much and don't play nearly enough. Hooray fanfiction! It's easily accessible and fun and I can read that while Keith plays Breath of Fire III. I'm trying to get through Dune: the Butlerian Jihad, but I'm just not liking it as much as I liked the first three Dune novels. I suppose that's to be expected when another author writes in a world that I liked so much. It's not the same and not really what I wanted. It's only mediocre, really. It's not horribly written; it's no Wayfarer Redemption, but it's just not as good as Frank Herbert.

Kendiefox

Yes, I know, it's been ages. Get over it. Not that anyone really cares how little I post.

I went to Florida, and had a great time. I did get sunburned, but not too badly. I read five books while I was there. So much Robin McKinley! Sunshine and Deerskin are so wonderful. And I really enjoyed The Blue Sword, but that's not unexpected, really. Kristen, you've proven yourself right yet again. You don't recommend books to me that I won't love.

I have sad tidings, my friends. It appears that I will no longer be able to live away from home. I will not have a roommate when Jessica leaves in October, and I cannont afford a one bedroom on what I am currently making at Petshell. That makes me very sad. I feel that I have failed in the experiment of me living on my own. And that really blows. I really liked living away from home. No, I don't enjoy the bills and the Jessica fiasco that erupts every time she shows up, but I do like making my own hours, having Junior, and having furniture that is my own. So. As of October 1, I will be moving to Memorial. I think I will also be transferring to another Petshell that is closer to Brent and Mom's house. Suckage. I wish I had someone who had the ablility and finances to move in with me in October. Oh, well.

Kendiefox
